About Iskele
Iskele, formerly known as Trikomo, is a rapidly developing area on the eastern coast of Northern Cyprus. Legend has it that the goddess Aphrodite brought the first fruit to this town, blessing it with fertility and abundance. The town is home to two important historical churches: the 12th-century Panayia Theotokos, now a museum, and the tiny 15th-century cruciform church of Ayios Iakovos (St. James). Nearby attractions include the charming fishing village of BoÄŸaz with its harbour-side fish restaurants, and the transformed tourist hotspot of Bafra with its golden beaches and crystal-clear waters. Iskele is truly an up-and-coming area that offers both historical significance and modern resort amenities.
