The coastal areas of Kyrenia and Esentepe benefit from refreshing sea breezes that make even the warmest days comfortable.
Summer (June - September)
Summers are hot and dry with temperatures ranging from 30-40°C (86-104°F). The sea temperature reaches a pleasant 26-28°C, perfect for swimming and water sports. This is peak tourist season with clear blue skies and minimal rainfall. Evening temperatures are comfortable for al fresco dining.
Spring (March - May)
Spring offers ideal conditions with temperatures between 20-28°C. This season is perfect for sightseeing, hiking in the Five Finger Mountains, and outdoor activities without the intense summer heat. The landscape is lush and green with wildflowers in bloom.
Autumn (October - November)
Autumn is another excellent time to visit, with temperatures ranging from 20-28°C. The sea remains warm enough for swimming well into October. This shoulder season offers fewer tourists and great value for accommodation.
Winter (December - February)
Winters are mild with temperatures around 10-17°C. Rainfall is more common during these months, but there are still many sunny days. It's a great time for cultural exploration, visiting historic sites, and avoiding crowds. The mountains may see occasional snow.
Best Time to Visit Esentepe & Kyrenia
The best time to visit depends on your preferences. For beach holidays, June to September is ideal. For sightseeing, golf, and outdoor activities, April to May and September to October offer perfect conditions with fewer tourists. Many visitors find spring and autumn to be the most comfortable seasons.
